Kauai : In January, 2013, I was forunate to be able to go to our company's yearly gathering in Kauai. My wife and I really enjoyed the stay at the St. Regis Princeville on the dramatic north side of the island. We had 3.5 days to soak in the magnificent scenary and the weather totally behaved. Here are a few of my images from the hotel area and while driving around the island. Kauai...my favorite Hawaiian island.

Papua New Guinea Trip - Aug. 2012 : I spent 2 weeks covering the river (Sepik) and mountains of Papua New Guinea concentrating mostly on the festivals that occur yearly in August. These festivals, the Sing Sing's, bring many of the local tribes together to display their traditional costumes and dances in a highly effective way. PNG is changing rapidly and seeing these wonderful people in this way was a photographer's dream. Hopefully you will enjoy these images and get to PNG soon. Well worth the effort.

Manila for a Weekend : During a business trip to Manila I spent a weekend and had time to visit some of the local sites. The Intramuros area was the old walled city when the Spanish were in control over 100 years ago. While there, we were able to see the end of a wedding at one of the oldest churches in Asia, St. Augustin. Also, we were forunate to visit the very humbling and respected Manila American Cemetery and Memorial for those who died or are missing from WWII. The memorial is still maintained extremely well and is the largest WWII cemetary outside the USA.

Myanmar - Dec 2011 : In late December, 2011, I ventured north from SIngapore to many consider to be a forbidden land...Myanmar. Burma, as is used to be called, recently is seeing more interest from outside countries, such as the United States, and will someday soon emerge to allow more and more commerce and tourism to enter. Prior to this happening, I wanted to go and see four major areas: Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay and Inle Lake. Each lcoation different and each very interesting with a common theme of having very pleasant, peaceful and open people. This is the first trip I also took my Selphy Printer with me to give some prints back to the many you see in this gallery...this was also very rewarding. I am sure things will be changing soon for Myanmar and if you have a chance to go, do so as the must of what to see will soon be gone.

Sichuan Province, China Trip - Oct 2011 : In October of 2011, I spent 16 days west and north of Chengdu, China in the Sichuan province throughout the mountains of the Daxue range. Since living in Singapore, I am striving to find more relatively unknown locations to "foreigners" and this certainly did qualify. For the most part, only locals and visitors from within China were all that I saw while touring this magnificant area. Our route was certainly not an easy area to navigate as much of the area is still quite remote and there still is damage from the terrifying earthquake they had recently. But,,,we were rewarded with unknown mind-blowing mountainous scenery, remote Tibetian villages and monestaries, wonderful parks, interesting weather and the fantastic autumn colors. Flores Indonesia Trip - May 2011 : One of my most pleasant surprises in all of my travels was to the wonderful islands of Flores and Komodo in Indonesia in April, 2011. Trying to find more remote locations, I had always wanted to see the Komodo Dragons and then discovered Flores during my research. I was very nervous about this until I got there and then it was pure heaven. Very unknown in the travel world, the people, landscape and adventure was more than I ever expected and exceeded many other trips more famous. Mostly a Catholic community, we went during Easter and loved being with the local poeple...not spoiled by tourists. Also, paganism is still practiced in some of the traditional villages, which along with the volcanic nature and rice fields, made this a photographer's delight! Highly recommend..very affordable.

Shanghai and Suzhou, China : During a business trip to Shanghai, my wife and I toured a little in Shanghai and ventured out to Suzhou, an ancient town noted for the dramatic gardens that are still maintained as they have always been. Although it was February, the Yu Gardens of Shanghai and the Lion's Grove and Humble Architecture Gardens of Suzhou were still wonderful to visit and shot.

Taal Lake Philippines : I recently spent 2 weeks in Manila and took the weekend to go to Taal Lake, south of Manila about an 2 hour drive. Although the volcano is still considered active, this mountain supports multiple cones within the lake. While I was there, they also had a couple of weddings at the hotel I was staying at.

Angkor Wat : The area around Angkor Wat near the city of Siem Reap, Cambodia, is truly one of the amazing wonders of the world. The dramatic vastness and richness of these ruins illustrate what a magnificent place this must have been in it's prime. I wonder about the amazement of seeing these ruins for the first time buried in the jungle as dreamed about when watching Indiana Jones movies of years ago. There are several sections to this area typically classified as "Angkor Wat". Angkro Wat itself is a large, moated set of temples and ruins that is illustrated in the first few images. Also included further around this area is the Angkor Thom complex, mostly noted for the amazing large sculptured faces of Bayon. Nearby is the "Laura Croft" area of Ta Prohm, where the large native trees engulf the ruins in dramatic fashion. Finally, further out away from Siem Reap are the two newer sites, including Banteay Srei and its finely ornamented carvings dedicated to women and the still jungle-covered area of Beng Mealea.

Grand Canyon : In reviewing some of my pre-Singapore images, I remembered spending time in the Grand Canyon on two different occasions. Often overlooked, the late fall and winter seasons are excellent times to fo to the South Rim due to the clarity and added benefit of snow. The colors seem much more rich and vibrant as compared to the summer time. These images are a collection during visits in Oct and Nov where I was lucky wih the weather.
