Guizhou Province, China
Tucked away in the middle of China is the province of Guizhou. It does not receive a lot of travel attention but contains some of the most interesting group of minority cultures known in the world. I would even compare it to the Chinese version of Papua New Guinea as each minority group has different customs, clothing and way of life. The focus of this visit was the annual Gulong Lusheng Festival. This festival is a gathering of the groups all wearing their unique costumes to honor the past tradition of the villages seeking spouses from other villages for marriage. I spent the time traveling from village to village to capture these groups from which several dressed accordingly. Soon this will change as the infrastructure will allow easier access and more modernization...but still time to enjoy!!
